Necip Fazıl and the Great East
It has been 33 years since Necip Fazıl Kısakürek (1904-1983) passed away. When it comes to Necip Fazıl, we are not faced with an intellectual who only has literary works and thoughts. In addition to his intellectual side, he is also a political personality whose life became miserable with his criticisms of the then existing system and the lawsuits, trials and prison sentences he was subjected to by the system. That's why he is one of the most important actors of the 50-60 years of the history of the Republic. We cannot understand and analyze almost 50-60 years of our political, social and cultural history without taking into account Necip Fazıl's thoughts, art and struggles.
He completed his cherished life as an intellectual who sometimes tried to melt the glaciers with a scream and sometimes, in his own words, by indulging, wandering every inch of Anatolia, rushing from court to court and from case to case. Just as it is difficult to understand him without knowing the conditions of the period in which he lived and the environment in which he continued his struggle, it is also difficult to understand our social and political flow today without knowing his struggle and work. This work is the "History of Social-Political Struggle" that reveals this relationship and is limited to Necip Fazıl. At the center of this history, the reader cannot see the portrait of Necip Fazıl as a man of arts and letters, but the portrait of Necip Fazıl, who founded the Great Eastern Society, published magazines and newspapers, filed lawsuits against him, set out on the roads of Anatolia step by step to explain his ideal, and was in a political struggle with his ideas. will find it.
This work joins our cultural world with Suat Ak's meticulous research and knowledge.
