Negative Dialectics, one of the pinnacle books of twentieth century philosophy, is finally in Turkish with Seyda Öztürk's magnificent translation on the 50th anniversary of its publication.

Adorno expresses the purpose of the book as follows: "The term 'Negative Dialectics' violates tradition. Dialectics, even in Plato, had the aim of producing something positive through negation, which is a thinking tool; later, this positivity was short and precise in the definition of 'negation of negation'." "This book aims to free dialectics from this affirmative basis without compromising determination." While the concept of philosophical experience is explained in the introduction part of the book, the first chapter deals with the situation of ontology prevailing in Germany. In the third chapter, "negative dialectics models" are developed in detail.

"Philosophy, which once seemed outdated, is still alive today because the opportunity to realize it was missed. The superficial judgment that philosophy does nothing but interpret the world, that it is crippled in itself because it surrenders to reality, is at the same door as the acceptance of the defeat of reason in a period when the effort to change the world has been completely in vain." Philosophy, which is postponed to an indefinite time, has ceased to be an appeal against complacent speculation, and mostly serves as an excuse for those in authority who want to suppress the critical thinking required by a transformative practice by claiming that it is futile. He is forced to criticize himself mercilessly for not being able to fulfill his promise to be on the eve of the future."

The book, which fulfills this brutal criticism without the slightest compromise, will never lose its currency and exemplary value.
