“Over the past hundred years, the people of Kurdistan have tried all means to live in peace, partnership and equality with the Iraqi state. In response, Iraqi governments put the power of the state at the service of chauvinism and sectarianism as much as they could. They chose the path of marginalization, Arabization, genocide, sustenance and denial against the Kurds. The people of Kurdistan held a referendum because they lost hope in trying all ways. The referendum revealed the solution of a hundred-year-old difficult issue of the people of Kurdistan with a modern and peaceful understanding and depth of belief. However, the response to the legitimate and peaceful voice of the people of Kurdistan was once again the language of arms, bullying and chauvinist mentality. "The only way to solve Iraq's problems and end the conflicts between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, progress and peace is to give up the chauvinist mentality and choose the culture of accepting each other."
