Darağacından Notlar
This book consists of the notes of Julius Fuçik, one of the leaders of the Czech Communist Party, who was arrested after the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia, written with a pencil on small pieces of paper during his captivity until his execution, and delivered abroad with great difficulty.
Agustina Fuçik, Julies Fuçik's wife and companion, is also one of the prisoners whose captivity ended when the Soviets defeated the Nazis. He found these notes, which his wife wrote by numbering each page and were kept by many people, one by one and brought them together.
This work, which has survived from the Gestapo cells to the present day and whose every line bears witness to the victory of human virtue, dedication and resistance, was first published as a book in 1945.
