Oblomov
Oblomov, who turned laziness into an art, is one of the immortal examples of the "superfluous man" character in Russian novel. The middle-aged landowner Oblomov quit his job, alienated all his friends, fell into debt and began to do all his worldly affairs from his bed. This sluggish nobleman, who lives in indifference in his apartment, which is crumbling in every corner, with his equally lazy servant, is the epitome of a class that has become dysfunctional by resisting change. This typecast, specific to Russian society, has been integrated into society since the day it was written by Goncharov, and has introduced the word "Oblomovism" into everyday language. Oblomov is not only a comedy about the landowners who came into this predicament at the end of the 19th century, but also criticizes the eccentricities and injustice of the current social order seriously but sweetly.
