Oblomov - Cloth-bound Book Description Oblomov is a lazy, neglectful and carefree nobleman who has an unlimited imagination but spends his days making plans that will not come true and always has an excuse not to get up. When he cannot keep up with the new life in Petersburg, at a time when land slavery is about to end, he withdraws into his shell and tries to run his business from his dorm. However, his servant Zahar, who is lazier than himself, and his best friend Stoltz are determined to draw him into social life. Even though his world becomes colorful for a short time and an awakening occurs in his soul, thanks to Olga, whom he meets by force, will this pure love alone be enough to break his shell and pull him out of his Oblomov status? This work, written by Goncharov in 1849 and satirizing the noble class of Russia, tells about the chronic disease of the ages, Oblomovism, and literally holds a mirror to our inner self.
