Almanya'da Din ve Felsefenin Tarihi Üzerine
Heinrich Heine is one of the greatest and most influential writers of German history. He became famous while he was alive. His fame spread outside Germany, throughout Europe, especially France.
Nietzsche wrote the following about him:
“Heinrich Heine gave me the most sublime idea about poetry. I search in vain in all the lands of the millennia for a music as sweet and passionate as his. Heine had a divine sarcasm, without which I cannot imagine perfection - and what a command of the German language! One day they will say that Heine and I were by far the first artists of the German language.”
This book, which starts with Luther and deals with giant thinkers such as Spinoza, Leibniz, Lessing, Goethe, Kant, Fichte, Schelling and Hegel in one breath, shoots its arrows right in the middle of the hearts of these giants who make up the German thought, unites them with the poet's narrative, is as productive as the Nile River. It creates a rich effect like the Library of Alexandria.
“Pantheism was expressed most decisively and clearly by Goethe. This situation is seen even in Werther . Werther painfully desires to identify with nature in a loving way. In Faust , he tries to establish a relationship with nature by following a stubborn, mystical and direct path: He enchants the secret powers of the world with the magic formulas of his spell books. But Goethe's pantheism reveals itself in the purest and most beautiful way in his little songs. Spinoza's teaching has emerged from its mathematical envelope and flies around us as a Goethe song. This is the reason for the anger of our Orthodox and Pietists towards Goethe's songs. To catch this butterfly, which constantly escapes from their hands, they swing their bear claws towards it. Goethe's songs are so thin and feather-like, with such soft wings. You French people won't understand what I mean unless you know the language. These songs have an indescribable, humorous magic. Harmonious verses embrace your heart like a compassionate lover. Words hug you, thoughts kiss you.”
