“I was at Atatürk's regular table. The number of guests that evening was small. But we were five or six friends. The great man was talking about his life. We were listening to him in ecstasy. He suddenly became silent and looked at us all individually. 'Friends, can you tell me what you thought of me when you first saw me?' he said and focused his gaze on me. “I realized that he wanted me to speak first.” That evening, Celâl Bayar briefly describes his meeting with Atatürk in the first years of the War of Independence and the first impression Atatürk had on him and continues as follows: “My sincere and true words from my heart are the humility of a great man who has a will as strong as steel.” It must have touched his feelings because he asked with a light voice and a shy tone: - Did you write these down? - No. – You are welcome, write. Then it was an order for me. May he rest in peace, there was a will after his death. That's why I started writing this book and named it "I Wrote Too." The book I Wrote Too will discuss all aspects of the War of Independence, the Grand National Assembly and the Government, the early periods of the Republic, Ataturk and his revolutions since the Armistice. Celâl Bayar
