Our Cities in the Footsteps of Evliya Çelebi Book Description I read the Uşak part of Evliya Çelebi's Travelogue during my research on Uşak Province. For a few issues that I have doubts about, a monograph each based on the 16th-17th centuries census records of Uşak, Manisa and Denizli. As can be seen in the Kütahya section, after my judge daughter was appointed to Kütahya, I started to tour the city, following the footsteps of Evliya Çelebi. My Kütahya notes were published in the weekly newspaper of a fellow countryman from Uşak. This was followed by articles examining the travel notes of our great traveler about the cities that are the provincial centers of the Aegean Region. Then, a fellow governor, whom we met as a family, came to Kütahya. I asked him if he could publish Evliya Çelebi's notes on the cities that were the provincial capital, if I did a study on critical reading. Upon positive response, I prepared a file called "Our Cities through the Eyes of Evliya Çelebi". In the file, 52 cities outside Istanbul that Evliya Çelebi visited and which are still provincial centers were discussed. The book was published not by the Governorship of Kütahya, but by the Karahallı Municipality of Uşak. Let me state that the book is one of the few works published on the Seyahatname on the 400th anniversary of Evliya Çelebi's birth. This isn't bragging, it's downplaying.
