Sabır Dağı
In his stories, Fakir Baykurt deals with problems such as the harshness of village life, poverty, ignorance, bigotry, superstition and exploitation, and deals with the material and spiritual world of the villagers from a socialist and realistic perspective. Based on observations and live testimonies, the author occasionally uses a humorous language by bringing daily spoken language into the story; It strikingly depicts the "ordinary person" who is stuck between the wheels of bureaucracy but harbors hope within him, together with the atmosphere of the place he lives in.
Sabir Mountain, which can be considered a continuation of Ten Thousands of Kagni, which Fakir Baykurt did not publish while he was alive but compiled into a book. We bring together the reader for the first time:
"The girls went to pull grass among the crops. The boys will come after clearing the field. The fence of the old vineyard will be renewed. He likes not only Emine, but also her son Ali. If a woman's husband is good, His eyes bite like this. He has been watching for Ali since he was a child. His biggest fear was that his children would not be good enough for him and that they would be too self-centered. Thank God, a good man thinks about his wife in bed and his friend more than himself. He thinks of it, his eyes shine like this, life gushes from his skin. 'May God increase your happiness! May my son not fade away! May the taste of your mouth not diminish!' He mutters as if he were praying, rolls his eyes back and says to himself: 'Ula, you have become a prayer leader at night and evening, my bitch
Bora Muslu!' says."
