Philosophy in the Light of Science
Philosophy in the Light of Science is a combination of two separate books compiled by Nusret Hızır's student and close friend, Füsun Akatlı, from her teacher's abandoned documents, after his death. The first is Philosophy in the Light of Science, which was previously published with the same name and consists mainly of the writings that Hızır planned to collect in a book while he was alive; The other is The Left Behind, which consists of the summary of his associate professorship thesis and the course summaries titled "Introduction Notes to the History of a Civilization", as well as the texts that Akatlı scanned from academic journals, audio tapes and files.
Nusret Hızır is a historical figure who has an important place with his contributions and testimonies in the establishment and development of a modern philosophy education in Turkey. He is an exemplary philosopher and scientist who stands out among his contemporaries with his approach to philosophy, his way of thinking and attitude, and his approach to knowledge and science. Moreover, he is "not a scientist or philosopher who is immersed in the problems of a certain field and closed to other fields, whose words are limited to his field of expertise, but a versatile man of culture."
