Science and philosophy continue their existence as if they were independent fields from each other. Philosophy students at universities are not expected to know physics or mathematics, and science students are not expected to know philosophy. So, are science and philosophy really independent fields? Have they always existed separately like this?
Philipp Frank, one of the members of the community that brought together the important philosophers of science of history, known as the Vienna Circle, shows us in this book that this is not the case at all. As we learn from Frank, physics or geometry, in short, science in general, is not a non-philosophical pursuit. Frank, who provides us with very interesting historical information by evaluating the major changes in various fields of science, explains that science and philosophy are actually intertwined fields. Although these two major fields began to appear as separate pursuits over time, the connection between them has not disappeared, it has just become invisible. The way to understand the bond between science and philosophy is through Philosophy of Science.
A coherent system of concepts covering the natural sciences, philosophy and human sciences is needed to understand not only science itself, but also its place in our civilization and its relationship with ethics, politics and religion. This type of system is called "philosophy of science"
