Poststructuralism has been seen as a methodology that produces dramatic changes in the way we understand individual and cultural relationships between people. This study, which defines the intellectual and organic relationship between this concept and structuralism, is an important introductory text on poststructuralist elements in different fields, from literature to plastic arts, from cinema to popular culture. This analysis, which focuses on major thinkers such as Barthes, Foucault and Lacan and their arguments, scans a wide literature built on the relationship between signifier and signified since Saussure. While shedding light on the search for truth in a world created by words, it examines the symbolic universe that creates truth in an intertextual context and perspective integrity.
