Charlotte Brontë (1816-1855): In her youth
She worked as a governess and an English teacher in Brussels. Deep traces of these years can be seen in his novels, especially in The Professor. In his works, he expressed his thoughts about male-female relationships, marriage and friendship with deep sensitivity and touching language. Charlotte Brontë became known for her first novel, Jane Eyre, published in 1847. This work was followed by Shirley in 1849 and Villette in 1853. The first novel he wrote, The Professor, was published in 1857, two years after the author's death, with the approval of his wife.
