Anxiety neurosis breaks out as soon as the influence of another, the common harmful influence, is added to the latent influence of the specific factor. The latter may act quantitatively in line with the specific factor, but it cannot replace it qualitatively. The specific factor always remains what determines the form the neurosis takes.
