Rebellion in Asturia - All Games 1
I, old Santiago, have lived a lifetime without knowing what happiness is. My father was a miner, my grandfather and his grandfather's grandfather […] Winter will come, it will snow, no one in this world will remember my name. In 1934, on the night between October 5th and October 6th... Asturian mine workers light the fire of rebellion against the system of exploitation, the regime of oppression, and injustice. It doesn't take long for this fever to reach the people living in the small town of Oviedo.
Revolt in Asturia, which Albert Camus wrote together with three of his friends from the Alger Labor Theater in 1935, when he was 22 years old, is about the workers' revolt that took place in Asturia in 1934. The strike started by Asturian mine workers on the night of October 5 was suppressed by the army appointed by the Spanish government on October 19, leaving many dead and thousands of injured. While the people of Oviedo suddenly find themselves in the middle of rebellion, the balance of power will change, new interests will be determined according to new conditions, moral values and beliefs will be questioned again, and relations will be rearranged from scratch. A young man who has never seen a war, a madman living the last days of his life, idealists who have been dreaming of this day for years, women who are looking for their place in this turmoil, will take their place in this rebellion that will soon turn into a war. These people, who are engaged in a struggle against the enormous power of the government, have different stories but a common dream.
