Relational Aesthetics Book Description: In the nineties, art was reshaped around the unique problems and questions of the period. Unconventional or changed forms of expression that emerged in the artistic universe could not be resolved through questions about the past, and this is the basis of misunderstandings regarding form and essence. It is impossible to read, interpret and reproduce new works of art without transcending this understanding, both in circles not directly related to the subject and in art circles. In this context, Nicolas Bourriaud proposes a reading based on mutual action, togetherness and relationality. He searches for the reason why these concepts have become the basis of the work of art, in the deficiencies created by the capitalist order in the space of human relations today, and at this point, he shapes art as a space protected from uniformization, a rich field of social experimentation. Relational Aesthetics, which includes previously unpublished articles as well as those published in various magazines and exhibition catalogues, is a pioneering manifesto in which art is reconstructed in line with its ties with the large economic system.
