Makal is one of the suffering writers of our country. His suffering stems from the fact that he is a populist and socialist writer. Otherwise, he would be in infinite comfort today. He had opportunities to make a lot of money. Since his aim was not to make money, he did not indulge himself in such cheap comforts. In front of him were the seats that many people dream of today. He preferred sitting on a chair to an armchair. Because Makal emerged as a people's writer, he would live as a people's writer. The local people would rise as he rose. Being like this is one of the requirements of being a public writer.

What does Sartre say: "What is the job of literature in a hungry world? If the writer wants to speak to everyone and be read by everyone, he must be on the side of the billions dying of hunger. Unless he does this, he is in the service of a happy minority and is an exploiter like them."

>Only Mahmut Makal was able to tear away the thick and dark curtain on the Anatolian village, which the older generation described as "the place where girls with shoes on their feet danced in a blizzard." Makal is the pioneer of such a happy movement. He is a writer who knows his job very well, so he cannot surrender. Because he is not from the old generation who did literature just for the sake of it. Makal and Makals will suffer the pain of a people left behind. But let it be known that the sacred pages of history will include these sufferers, not those who made them suffer
