A conflict process has been ongoing for nearly half a century, especially in the east of Turkey . One of the most important results of this conflict process is the internal displacement of hundreds of thousands of people. The first displacement was the displacement from villages , which occurred mostly in rural areas during the 1990s , and the second was the displacement from cities, which occurred as a result of the “trench incidents” in 2015-2016 .
The book explores the quarter-century experiences of forced internal migration of people who have been subjected to both types of displacement. The phenomenon of resisting “the lived” through exhaustion is actually a way of coping. So against what? Not being a guard, dispossession, poverty, unemployment, the burning down of homes, villages, cities and neighborhoods, torture and ill-treatment, deaths, pain, torment, disgrace, hopelessness, helplessness… In other words, everything… What is being told is the story of the tremendous resistance of ordinary people against the lived, but also of an exhaustion inherent in this resistance.
