Evliya Çelebi Seyahatnamesi'nden Seçmeler

One night, he saw the prophet in his dream and said, "Intercession, O Messenger of Allah!" He was about to say, but he stumbled out of excitement and said, "Travel, O Messenger of Allah!" Evliya Çelebi, who started traveling without rest since that morning, is among the greatest travelogue writers of Turkish and world literature.

The breadth of the geography he traveled, his half-century travel period, and his ten-volume giant work Seyahatname, are evident in the 17th century. He explained the history of the vast Ottoman geography in the 19th century, people's traditions, customs, folklore, arts and crafts in all its aspects. While doing this, he conveyed extensive objective information but was not satisfied with the didactic style, he also included extraordinary things and reflected his sarcastic and sweet style in his work.

In his book Selections from Evliya Çelebi's Travelogue; One of the immortal works of Turkish literature, XVII. It includes remarkable and intriguing selections from Seyahatname, which is a very rich and inexhaustible source of history, ethnography, geography, folklore and architecture for the 19th century.
