Seyyid Şefik Arvasi is an Ottoman Kurdish intellectual who lived between 1884 and 1970 and saw an empire collapsing. In addition to the religious education he received, he was not indifferent to the situation of his people.
Seyyid Şefik Arvasi, one of Bediuzzaman's students who was always with him, made important contributions to the Kurdish press and Kurdish literature. He was the editor-in-chief of the Kurdistan magazine and was the first person to publish the Melaye Ciziri Divan in Ottoman lands. Also in this period, he was the one who published Melaye Bate 's Mevlidi and Ehmede Xani 's Nubihar and caused them to reach large audiences.
