Sleepless World
“Sleepless World” consists of essays and speeches written by Stefan Zweig between 1909 and 1941. The reader follows the author's changing attitudes towards time, the source of his sensitivities, his anger and disappointments, step by step. Zweig says, "Now even the most peaceful people are dreaming of conflict, battalions are attacking and falling between sleep, the echo of cannonballs boils the blood," and makes a unique description of the dark days.
