Love is a door. You don't know where it opens, but you still step inside.

Art historian Melike could not have known that the Greek director Petro, with whom she would tour the Byzantine churches in Istanbul, was looking for her for a completely different purpose. She could not have imagined that Petro's appearance would open the doors of her family's secrets one by one, revealing love stories, stories of loss, and painful island stories. Summer Heat is a story of separation and reunion. Of father and daughter... Of woman and man... Of mother and son... Of lands divided in two and siblings separated... I was tired of my own emotional tides, of the strife inside me, of being thrown into the past when I hadn't expected it. It was all because of Petro. He had brought the memory of my grandmother. And my father's along with him. He had opened the windows I had closed with a look from his honeyed eyes. I thought those windows would no longer open. They were rusted, swollen and jammed from not being used.
