Suvarnabhasa Sutra - Golden Light Sutras - Hasan Ali Yücel Classics Book Description Suvarnabhāsa Sūtra is one of the most important Buddhist sūtra texts written in Sanskrit, it is included in the group called "Nine Dharmas" and means "Golden Light Sūtra". Suvarnabhāsa Sūtra, one of the main works of Mahāyāna Buddhism, spread among the societies that adopted Buddhism in Central Asia. Uyghurs have known the Suvarnabhāsa Sūtra since the 10th century, and the work was translated into the Uyghur language under the name Altun Yaruk Sudur. Sanskrit manuscripts found in many places such as Khotan, Afghanistan, Kizil, Turfan, Niya, Dandan Uilik, Shanshan, Dunhuang have played a vital role in determining the culture of Central and East Asia.
