This project is the biography of beloved Tahir Elçi, a lawyer, human rights defender, friend, and husband. I wanted to show Tahir and the painful geography he lived in to his loved ones. I wanted to show you what Tahir and his loved ones suffered and what they went through...
The first question of the people I told about the book preparation was: "How was Tahir killed?" I answered them, “I am writing about how Tahir lived, not how he died.”

"While I was making plans to beautify my house and buy the things I love, a few months later, I started looking for a master to build a wall in the cemetery. I went from shop to shop to find wall stone. I found a pomegranate tree seedling to plant in the garden from a flower seller. I planted a pink needlepoint tree for myself, diagonally opposite the pomegranate tree. As you can see, my dreams have changed. My dream was now to have a lace tree that would color the garden with spring and look like a pomegranate tree."
