It was 1965. After the days-long campaign, the ballot box was passed around the classrooms of Tarsus High School one by one. The number of students who voted was 2200. The ballot box was opened in front of everyone in the teachers' room.

Eight candidates competed. I alone received 1357 votes, that is, 61.7 percent of the votes, and was elected as the Association President of Tarsus High School.

I overemphasized freedoms during the campaign. I claimed that the smoking ban would be lifted. A female student asked, "If you become president, will wearing miniskirts and make-up be allowed?" "Of course" I said.

I will take you on a journey following my memories to my Tarsus days, my childhood, my football career and my first revolutionary period. To Tarsus of the 1950s and 60s...
