This book, titled The Tense and Aspect System in Turkish, is a descriptive study in which the tense and aspect system of Turkish are simultaneously examined. In linguistic studies based on traditional grammar, morphemes known as “form and tense suffixes” have generally been examined with an “overly tense” approach. However, these morphemes in question have not only a tense function but also a dominant aspect function. In this study, the tense and aspect categories, which have an important place in Turkish grammar, are examined and described together.
