The Art of Silence - Hamuş-name Book Description Hâmûş-nâme or the Art of Silence has a story that concerns everyone in world life: Poet Yusufi-yi Erzincanî, the author of the work, was found unoccupied one day and the words he said were conveyed to his friends by a snitch, and for this reason he fell out with his friends. He realizes that he is broken. He feels sad about this and writes this work. In the "reason for copyright" section of his work, he explains why he wrote the work as follows: "Once upon a time, I went abroad and stayed in Erzincan for a while. A malicious person heard some of the words that came out of my mouth and said to my friends, "Yusuf says such and such things about you." My friends, who were offended when they heard these words, moved away from me. When I researched this issue thoroughly, I realized that the reason for this was the evil and bad luck of my tongue. In this sense, I was amazed and the effort suddenly took over me. I said: "If my words cause loss, the reason for my loss is because of the evil of the tongue." I decided to hold my tongue and not say anything and not to hurt my friends again. Just as I was thinking about these, the moon-faced bride of thought said to me: When he asked, "Why were you so numb?" I told him this story and he listened. “If you know stories in this sense, write them in verse.” said. I told these ten stories, that's why I wrote them.
