The ones they call guerrilla are our children. My child did not go to the mountains, but they are my children too. They suddenly went to those mountains for these tears of mine, they opposed this oppression, hungry and thirsty. It was a ceasefire when they shot my father. The state was blaming its dirty work on the PKK. He cited the PKK as the cause of every oppression. They said that those who burned our house and burned my father to death were PKK. We know the truth. We know who did what he killed. This is obvious today. They are both killing and... They did not let us near my father's funeral. They say he buried him somewhere, but where is that? We don't know either. Our trial continues. They killed my father and left us with this pain for the rest of our lives. (Meltem) The book focuses on the stories of the women who found themselves in Istanbul due to displacement. On the other hand, starting from the 1980s, it focuses on the unspoken, unresearched area in the history of Free Women and focuses on the politicization of women. Because of the polarization that we have become accustomed to in our daily lives and in line with our political views and identity, we do not want to understand situations that are foreign to our lives. We are in the habit of judging rather than understanding. This is the value of this study, It tells about ordinary, real people whose lives are transformed by the chain reaction triggered by village evacuations. Melike Gül Demir's research findings indicate that the longing for a Turkey without war and death was accompanied by the dream of a world where women would be liberated. I hope understanding will shorten the path to peace.Emine Onaran İncirlioğlu
