Yol Kesen Irmak
While he was still in high school, he served as a civil servant in the first parliament established on April 23, 1920, and after completing his law doctorate in Europe, Turkey Ordinary Professor Hıfzı Veldet Velidedeoğlu, who laid the foundations of civil law in Istanbul and served as dean of Istanbul Faculty of Law for two terms, was the most prominent of the intellectuals who expressed the rule of law throughout his life. Velidedeoğlu, one of the people who prepared the 1961 Constitution, was one of the first to see and warn about the darkness into which Turkey was later pushed, and also defended "freedom of thought" and Ataturkist thought to the end. Velidedeoğlu, who is a passionate nature lover and who travels every inch of Anatolia and knows the whole country closely, draws the panorama of Turkey from the eyes of a lawyer in his writings enriched with memories, testimonies and experiences in Yol Kesen Irmak. What Hıfzı Veldet Velidedeoğlu said yesterday remains fresh even today and reveals what the brightness of tomorrow will be like.
