Incest assault is a special form of child sexual abuse and is a crime punishable by serious punishment. The most destructive aspect of incest is that it takes place in the family environment, which is thought to protect us from the anonymous evil outside and surround us with mercy. The crime of incest, hidden behind the privacy of the home under the wings of patriarchal power, can only be fought with an approach that puts the individual before the family. Approaches whose goal is "to protect the family no matter what" create an obstacle for all disciplines in punishing the incest perpetrator, healing and strengthening the victim and other family members who are damaged along with the victim. In the fight against incest attack, it is of great importance to provide opportunities where children can safely get away from abuse, and to ensure that these opportunities are sustainable for themselves and their family members other than the abuser.

This book, which brings together the research, practice and observation-based knowledge of experts from the fields of forensic medicine, demography, critical media studies, law, women's studies, pediatrics, psychiatry, psychology and sociology, aims to discuss the fact of incest in Turkey by making it visible; It aims to contribute to the end, the punishment of the attackers and the aid processes for the victims. What all authors agree on is that we should not forget that family members, relatives, teachers, medical personnel, lawyers, judges, prosecutors, media workers, non-governmental organizations and especially public authorities have obligations in the case of incest.
