The Idiot - World Classics Book Description Dostoyevsky's novel The Idiot, serialized in the Russki Vestnik magazine in 1868, tells the story of Prince Myshkin, an extinct man who is the epitome of goodness. Although the sickly Prince Myshkin, who suffers from frequent epileptic seizures, is not a character devoid of intelligence, he is seen as a "fool" by those around him due to his naive good intentions. As was usual for Dostoyevsky, the work also bears traces from his own life.
