Bir Yanılsamanın Geleceği-Neden Savaş
Are the religious designs that we know as dogmas actually data from experiences or are they illusions? Can the belief that children are non-sexual beings, which only psychoanalysis can refute, be described as an illusion? Is it an illusion to think that reason can dominate instinctive life without difficulty in generations that did not feel the influence of religious dogmas on them in their early childhood?
In The Future of an Illusion , Freud not only finds answers to all these questions, but also expresses his ideas about religion from a critical perspective. Within the scope of this research, he questions the reality value of religious dogmas and explains whether they can be considered illusions in terms of their psychological structure. In this context, he describes illusions as satisfactions provided to humanity's strongest, oldest and most urgent desires.
With The Future of an Illusion, Freud created a series of works in which he examined in detail the problems of civilization that he had addressed many times before. His most important works in this series are Unrest in Culture (1930), in which he once again conveys his thoughts here, then Why War (1933), which includes his correspondence with Einstein on the war, and Moses and Monotheism, which he has been working on since 1934.
