
The Long Way Home - Şerefxanê Bedlisi
He was born far from his homeland. He was educated with his children in the Shah's palace. He ruled Azerbaijan at the age of 12. He was victorious in the wars. But he always had his eye on his ancestral lands and wanted to write the history of his people before he died. He performed his first one at the age of 44 and his second one at the age of 54.

The Russian Tsar requested the analysis and evaluation of the manuscript obtained from the Ardabil Library in 1829. A 24-year-old Kurdologist published the book (1860) and wrote in the preface, “The work has existed for 300 years, and nothing comparable to it has appeared in the East since then.”
V.İ., who translated “Şerefname” into Russian in the 1960s. Vasilyeva's foreword to the book had a wide impact. The author later expanded this foreword and published it as a book under the name "Şerefxanê Bedlisi Era Life and Immortal Personality".
