The meaning of life

Our life is primarily like a payment made with copper coins; We must provide a receipt for this payment; virgin coins are days, receipt is death.

There is no possibility of establishing the slightest connection between the fact that time constantly rushes us around in a rush, never gives us the opportunity to breathe, waits on all of us like an imperious employer with a whip in its hand, and our lives turning into torment and torture. Time does not only cause trouble and strangle those who are writhing in the grip of boredom.

Suppose the human race was abolished and taken to the country of Utopia, where everything develops and matures by itself, where milk and honey boil from the ground, where food waits to be plucked from the branches, where everyone finds what they want without wasting any time and has no difficulty in obtaining it; What would these people do then? They would either die of boredom, or hang themselves, or else they would fall out with each other, strangle each other, fight after fight, and kill each other.
