Murdered Poet Book Description Guillaume Apollinaire (1880-1918): There is not much information about his childhood, except that he was the son of a Polish immigrant and an Italian officer. When he came to Paris when he was 20, he was in the middle of avant-garde movements and shaped his poetry. The Murdered Poet consists of stories that reflect Apollinaire's innovative spirit in both form and content, in which different genres such as poetry and theater come to the fore. These stories, written between 1910 and 1915, were published in 1916, the year the poet was injured in World War I and brought to Paris.
