From the mid-1960s onwards, İsmail Beşikci began an intensive thought and writing career on the Kurdish and Kurdistan issue, the most important and complex issue in the Near and Middle East. Regarding these difficult and costly writings and thoughts, administrative and then judicial investigations were opened within the university.
The investigations and court proceedings played a major role in the perception, comprehension and clarification of the dimensions of the Kurdish issue. During this process, the courts revealed the healthy and safe ways of how an enlightened person should think, behave and act.
The book, published by Melsa-Belge Publications in the 1990s under the name of "Defenses", was published in 1993 with the addition of six new indictments and the defenses related to them under the name of "The Path Opened by the Courts".
In the book you are holding in your hands, four "defense" texts are included first.
The intellectual life that brought out the phenomenon of İsmail Beşikci, the enlightened attitude he displayed with this and other defenses, also demonstrate the ethical behavior, passion and responsibility towards history of a rare and exemplary person in the world.
