Ebu Ali Sina Hikayesi
The life of Ibn Sina, one of the most important thinkers and scholars of all time, has been the subject of many stories. In the Anatolian public imagination, the adventures related to his life have generally been written as the Story of Abu Ali Sina. The most competent of these is Seyyid Ziyaeddin Yahya's Abu Ali Sina. Ziyaeddin Yahya says that he started writing his work in Üsküdar while he was going to Larende (Karaman), where he was appointed as a judge, and that he finally completed it in 1629 when he entered Larende. Sources state that there were many different manuscripts and printed copies of the work from the period it was written until 1906, and that it was translated into Arabic. The work has been reprinted in a way that almost no other work has been able to.
The work, which is a masterful compilation of the Anatolian people's imaginations about Ibn Sina in the form of a novel, is virtually a fantastic literary feast. With Seyyid Yahya's The Story of Abu Ali Sina, Ibn Sina has become a hero who responds to the people's anxieties about great human issues such as life, fate and love. With this novel, the world of the 17th century that brings together imagination and wisdom rejoins our cultural world as one of the examples of a rich culture.
