There Are Women Too

Servet Hanım couldn't sleep that night. Her inability to forgive was poisoning her with all its bitterness. They hadn't let her live, they hadn't loved her, they had made her sick, her husband and her children. None of them cared about Servet Hanım. She had to make them pay, she had to make them regret it. She had to take the pain out of them for not letting her live. She had no other weapon but to die. Yet she wanted to live.

Women Also Exist is one of Erendiz Atasü's works that has not lost its value since the day it was published. This work, which won the Academy Bookstore Story Award, one of the most important story awards of the period, in 1982, adds a brand new dimension to the way Turkish literature describes women.

These stories, written based on the stories of eight women, give voice to women with different backgrounds and different equipment through a single common point: Being able to survive despite everything in such an organized world.
