Swiss instructor Pierre Gilliard, the last tsar of the Romanov Dynasty, II. He meets Nikolay and his family during the 1905 Revolution. Since 1906, first Tsar II. He gives French lessons to Nikolay's daughters, Marya, Olga, Anastasia and Tatyana, and to Tsarevich Aleksey from the autumn of 1912. After 1913, he was with the imperial family as the tsarevich's official instructor.
The thirteen years (1905-1918) that are the subject of Gilliard's memoirs are perhaps one of the most important periods in the entire history of the empire.
During these years he spent with the family due to his duty, he shared the daily life of the family and participated in many trips with them.
