This World is a Mill

This World is a Mill completes Zarifoğlu, whom we know from his poems, memoirs and stories, from a different perspective. He was advising the curious people around him, his friends and readers, to read the catechism at a time when everyone was being intellectual. He advised us to perform prayers according to the customary rituals, to stand up for night prayers, to treat women well, to treat children as if they were human beings, and to walk on the roads with dhikr. More precisely, he was doing his best to enrich our inner world as Muslims and to help us grow up as Muslims equipped for the age. He was making it for both children and adults.

The writings in this book can also be viewed as the occasional swell of a river that flows silently, calmly, and with inner murmurs in its own bed.
