Üç Film Birden
“Don't think that the name Three Films at Once was named for commercial concerns. When I came across the suggestion of printing three scenarios together, this was the first thing that came to my mind, not as a name, but as a sweet memory. The penniless youth's most gratifying passion for cinema during his student years was the announcement of three films at Sehzadebaşı cinemas. Our generation can be called the cinema generation. Just as today's world is the television generation (More accurately, cinema was cunning and entered homes in the form of television!) As the children of the poor country left behind, we were extraordinarily passionate cinema audiences.
It wasn't until much later that we realized that American cinema, in particular, had been conditioned to a backward, bad culture for years. This sobering up, far from cooling us down, made us approach cinema more consciously, perhaps even more passionately. I have been a cinema worker for nearly twenty years; I earn my living by writing scripts and occasionally directing films in the field of film production. (...) I not only love it, I also believe in cinema... I believe in its impact, authority, talent and future.
I have tried and made efforts in various areas of the art of writing. I started with poetry like most; Two of my plays were exhibited; I have a novel for now. None of them gave me the taste, satisfaction and pleasure that going to the movies did. Undoubtedly, in this taste, in this satisfaction, lies the possibility of the created product reaching millions. Books that sell well are measured in tens of thousands in our country; The cinema has eleven million viewers. And mostly from those who can't even learn the alphabet.”
