Türkiye Halk İştirakiyun Fırkası
Turkish People's Participation Party (1920-1923), prepared by Erden Akbulut and Mete Tunçay, "aims to tell with documents the story of an experience lived in Anatolia during the War of Independence during the three and a half years from the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly to the proclamation of the Republic." The Ankara of 1920 is still very dark for us. People don't know what to do. Less than half of the members of the Istanbul Parliament, all of whom were "nationalists and the majority of whom were Unionists", dared to come to the Turkish Grand National Assembly. The strongest common impulse is religion; Besides, communism is also seen as a hope of salvation. The book you have in your hand tells the story of a left party whose total legal activity did not reach a year in the political scene depicted above, between 1920 and 1923. The managers of the THIF, the programs and activities of the "party", and their relations and tensions with the Soviets and the Comintern are explained by narrating as fully as possible documents that cannot be easily accessed, and even if they can be accessed, it will be difficult to benefit from them due to language and writing difficulties. It is obvious that the book Türkiye Halk Participation Party (1920-1923) is not an easy-to-read work. However, we think that the richness of the information contained in the book will be more than worthy of the time devoted to it.
