Two Different Politics
Politics expresses a field of social facts and processes that cannot be separated from the concept of power, and therefore it contains the permeating nature of the ruler-ruled distinction contained in the concept of power and its oppressive, inegalitarian potential in all human relations.
Approaches that seek to define politics as a field of "scientific investigation" limited to the explanation of what is objective and therefore only observable; in essence, result in legitimizing the status quo in which the inegalitarian and oppressive potential contained in the concept of politics becomes visible in concrete life. In contrast to these views, which can be called the "positivist" approach to politics, Another "critical" approach, which is committed to the dynamism of the ideal of human liberation and takes the principles of democratic freedom and equality seriously, is based on revealing the oppressive dimensions behind the visible face of the facts and transforming the oppressiveness of the power relationship by turning the mentioned ideals and values into concrete practice.
Two Different Policies aims to question the epistemological and philosophical foundations of this distinction between positivist theory and critical theory, and to reveal how these two different approaches in political theory are used and can be used in political research, and thus to reconsider where politics should be sought as the basis of a human liberation project that eliminates social inequalities and oppression. It aims to make you think.
