What we read in Can Yılmaz's stories is a testimony without pretense, without dressing, without trying to show off.

We do not hear the author's voice in these stories. I'm talking about a dignity that speaks little but concisely. He carefully avoids a grandiose attitude. He does not act arrogant towards us. He says what he sees. This is what makes the writer's job easier when leaning on a tradition.

Our language, our jokes, our pain are common with Can Yılmaz. That's why we meet suddenly and we don't wait for him to tell us the whole story. Can Yılmaz's literary concern is to keep alive this style, which is as difficult as it is easy, as complex as it is simple, and which enters the house as soon as it reaches its goal.

Today we are talking about the third book and tens of thousands of readers. So, most of the path has been walked.
