Utopia
Thomas More's UTOPIA does not seek to escape to an ideal world, but to create the legal and social skeleton of another politics with a surprising reality. The structure of the "other" world created by More functions as a magnificent "mirror", carrying a critical power in every texture. Utopia is an anti-world kingdom, a real "civilian community". Since More was not a "lawmaker who never leaves his house", he used his very sharp observation power to fulfill the most important rule of his reformist humanism - to respond to the ontological demands of humanitas - and created a book of wisdom. More's work is an antithesis of decadence and corruption, a symbol of rebirth. Even the crescent-shaped geography of the island of Utopia emphasizes this purpose.
This edition of Thomas More's Utopia is enriched with chronological information, bibliographies, prefaces and extensive footnotes and presented to the attention of a wide readership.
