Wansa - Iraq Stories
In Iraq Stories, Tecelli conveys the stories of a people identified with pain and rebellion, nourished by the traditions, customs and religious beliefs of an ancient geography. While telling about the impossible love and honorable resistance of the Yazidi girl named Wansa, the methods used by women in Baghdad due to lack of money, the Halabja massacre, suicide bombers and chemical weapons, it offers successful examples of the transfer of truth through literature.
Tecelli is like a dervish, a storyteller father of Southeastern Anatolia. His stories remind me of the Gorkis, Panait Istratis, Sholokhof or Orhan Kemals of my early youth. [...] Tecelli knows how to convey the troubles, pains and folklore of the people with his straightforward narrative, far from the introverted, individualistic, sterile repetitiveisms and ornamental concerns that have been haunting our literature lately.
