Who Killed Palomino Molero? This is a crime novel. Peru in the 1950s. A brutally murdered airman is found near an air force base in the northern deserts. The task of investigating this murder was given to Lieutenant Silva and his assistant Lituma. This murder becomes a turning point for Lituma, because this is her first encounter with evil. Uncovering the murder becomes a great passion, otherwise the evil will remain without a reason. But at the end of his efforts, he only learns that justice is impossible in a society built on inequality. Peruvian writer Maria Vargas Llosa, who is considered one of the best novelists of today, gives the depth of a literary work to a detective story whose plot is extremely well designed and will be read with curiosity in one breath. It seems quite significant that the two police officers who are trying to shed light on the murder are blocked by the darkness of other deaths: It seems to indicate where the more universal adventure of man and his efforts to catch the truth can lead. But just because it's a hopeless effort doesn't mean it's unfun.
