A Comparative Approach to the Status of Women in Christianity and Islam The common feature of all three monotheistic religions is that women's second status is considered natural and this is considered a legitimate reason for controlling their bodies. Although this common feature can be explained by the fact that all three traditions, historically and geographically, were born and developed in response to similar needs in more or less the same or close lands and similar material conditions, the interesting thing is that they focus on the attitudes and understanding of women in their current expressions. Today's Protestant and Islamic fundamentalism also focuses on the status and control of women and focuses on gender and women. We see that they legitimize it through their correct social role. In this regard, the comparative approach will prevent the mistake of falling into particularism and orientalism and seeing religious revival as a phenomenon unique to Islam, and will help to see that fundamentalism is not something limited and incomprehensible to the exotic area of Islam.
