Words
... The author started writing his autobiography, which he called "Words", in 1953, and had finished most of it in 1954. In 1964, he rewrote "Words" again, this time in a more softened style that paid more attention to details. The author's aim is not to revive the past, but to give it meaning. He avoids unnecessary details, and by making use of Marxian thought and, to a certain extent, soul analysis, tells us how he devoted himself to literature and found the absolute in literature in his childhood, when subjectivity predominated. He presents his own example to us as an example of a generation and a social class.
